So I started my training a few weeks ago when I got to Germany. I will be here until the trail starts (I hope). I have joined a gym as I not only need to get fitter but also loose a few pounds before I hit the trail. I have a bike which I ride absolutely everywhere, so I get some cardio in everyday and in the gym I am doing strength training and Yoga (as I love it)!
Once I have built up my muscles a little I will start to do some mountain climbs and start doing some proper hiking. I live in Lindau, which is right next to the Alps and we have some brilliant walking trails around here which will be perfect but I will have to be careful as it already snowing up there.
Regarding food at the moment, I am just eating lots of healthy food and have pretty much cut out all dairy products and meats. I am getting my protein from Soya products and lots of veg and beans.
